Officially Inaugurated! Collaborative Research Center for Zero Waste and Sustainability starts its mission on October 11, 2022

The signing of memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the Research Center of Environment and Clean Technology of the National Research and Innovation Agency (PRLTB BRIN), and the Faculty of Engineering, Widya Mandala Surabaya Catholic University (UKWMS)  was held on Tuesday, October 11th, 2022. The event was organized at the Kalijudan Campus of UKWMS. The list of invitees who took part in this signing event includes the representatives from PRLTB BRIN, the Legal and Cooperation Bureau, the Bureau of Public Communication, General Affairs and Secretariat of BRIN, and also the faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering UKWMS.

The remarks from (1) Drs. Kuncoro Foe, G.Dip.Sc., Ph.D., Apt. as the Rector of UKWMS, (2) Prof. Ir. Suryadi Ismadji, M.T., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng. as the Dean of Faculty of Engineering UKWMS, and (3) Dr. Sasa Sofyan Munawar, S. Hut, MP. as the Head of PRLTB BRIN officially opened the signing ceremony. Following after was a brief report from both sides, represented by Prof. Ir. Felycia Edi Soetaredjo, S.T., M.Phil., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng and Dr. Widyarani, M.Sc, and subsequently, finalized by the official MOA signing ceremony between the Dean of Faculty of Engineering UKWMS and the Head of PRLTB BRIN.

 

After the ceremony ended, both UKWMS and BRIN teams gathered to hold a focus group discussion (FGD) on the details of the possible cooperation. The representatives of BRIN also visited several laboratory facilities owned by the Department of Chemical Engineering UKWMS, including Instrumental Analysis Laboratory, Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, Organic Chemistry & Physical Chemistry Laboratory, Bioprocess Technology Laboratory, Process Technology Laboratory, Unit Operation Laboratory, Process Computing Laboratory, and Process Control Laboratory.
